Romance
for two Violins and Symphony Orchestra

Romance was composed for the Wallace and Gromit Prom in 2012, performed by Tasmin Little and ‘Gromit’ the dog, with Aurora Orchestra conducted by Nicholas Collon. The piece opens with a short cadenza from each violinist before the main Romantic theme is heard. There follows three contrasting variations before the main theme returns with the whole orchestra. It is an unashamedly passionate and melodic work, in the Romantic tradition.
Premiered 29th July 2012 - BBC Proms, Royal Albert Hall, London
Duration: 4 mins
