Modest Mussorgsky - Pictures at an Exhibition
for Organ Solo Modest Mussorgsky composed Pictures at an Exhibition in 1874 for solo piano. It has been widely orchestrated and arranged, most notably Ravel's orchestration of 1929, and is particularly successful as an organ piece. Written as a response to the work of the artist Victor Hartmann, Mussorgsky's highly original score is full of colour and energy. This arrangement for organ follows the original piano score closely and unabridged, while translating it into true organ writing. Available to purchase from Aria Editions here |
