Jules Massenet - Meditation (Thaïs)

The Meditation from Massenet's opera Thaïs has long been a popular separate concert work. It is striking for its expressive violin solo and quiet rapture, a mood of tender serenity. This arrangement for 12 players is a faithful reduction of the original orchestral score. It can be played with single strings or more players if preferred, with the solo violin part unchanged.
