Gustav Holst - Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity (The Planets)

Holst's 'The Planets' is one of the most popular and colourful orchestral works in the repertoire. 'Jupiter' is full of explosive energy and joyful vigour, with a contrasting noble central melody. This arrangement for medium-sized orchestra was made for the Coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey on 6th May 2023.

Instrumentation: Piccolo, 2 Oboes, 2 Clarinets, Bassoon, 2 Horns, 3 Trumpets, Trombone, Timpani, Percussion (Cymbals, Triangle, Tambourine, Glockenspiel), Harp, Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, Double Bass (medium-sized string section)
