Edward Elgar - Pomp and Circumstance March No. 4
​for Orchestra


Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance Marches are full of masterful melodies, exuberant energy and stately grandeur. The 4th was composed in 1907, and has a well-known and stirring trio section. This arrangement for medium-sized orchestra was made for the Coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey on 6th May 2023.

Instrumentation: Flute, 2 Oboes, 2 Clarinets, Bassoon, 2 Horns, 3 Trumpets, Trombone, Timpani, Snare Drum, Harp, Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, Double Bass (medium-sized string section)
