Claude Debussy - Clair de lune 
for Flute, Viola, Cello, Harp

Clair de lune has long been a popular work in Debussy's output. It may have been inspired by a Paul Verlaine poem with the same title, which evokes an evening scene of dancers and singers, in a mixture of sadness and ecstasy. The piece is taken from Debussy's Suite Bergamasque for solo piano. While the other movements in the Suite evoke Baroque styles and dances, this piece has a Romantic dreamy quality. It has been orchestrated and arranged many times, and this arrangement retains the lightness and transparency of the original.
