Christmas Treat Suite
​for Piano Duet

Christmas Treat Suite is a short and lively collection of traditional Christmas carols in a jazz style. It is a piano duet for two players of different ability, such as a teacher and pupil. The upper part is relatively simple, mostly a single line melody or unison. The lower part has the bulk of the harmonic and rhythmic content, and is more advanced. It was composed in 2022 for the singer Dame Sarah Connolly and the pianist Julius Drake to perform together in a recital on 14th December 2022 at the Middle Temple Hall, London.
