A complete performance of Anthony Burgess's own play version of A Clockwork Orange, featuring all of the music that he composed for it. Performed in 2017 by the BBC Philharmonic and full cast for BBC Radio Drama on 3. Winner of Best Adaptation at the Audio Drama Awards.
Burgess composed incidental music and songs for the play, based on his classic dystopian novel. This music was left in piano score and was unperformed in his lifetime. These are new orchestrations of his music, for a Beethoven-size orchestra. Beethoven's music is referenced throughout the play and included in the score.
