Gabriel's Message (The angel Gabriel from heaven came) is a traditional Christmas carol from the Basque region. It has a lilting and wistful melody in the minor key, and tells the story of Mary's meeting with the angel Gabriel. This arrangement for string orchestra is harmonically rich and emotionally highly expressive.

Instrumentation: string orchestra (minimum c. 4, 4, 3, 3, 1)
