Eduard Strauss - Ausser Rand und Band

Eduard Strauss (1835–1916) was the younger brother of Johann Strauss II and Josef Strauss, part of the musical dynasty that was wildly successful for their Viennese dance music. Ausser Rand und Band is a fast polka that was composed in 1878, with a title that means 'Out of bounds'.

Instrumentation: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Harp, 2 Percussion (timpani, snare drum), Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Violoncello, Double Bass (15 players)​
