Fantasy on 'Arirang' is based on one of the most well-known Korean folksongs. The work opens with a passionate and energetic statement of the theme, followed by a series of lively variations. There is a version for violin and piano, and one for violin and small orchestra (flute, oboe, strings, harp).
 
Fantasy on 'Arirang' was premiered on 21st November 2023 by Esther Yoo (violin) and the Philharmonia Orchestra at Buckingham Palace, London in the presence of the British Royal Family and the South Korean President.
