Ludwig van Beethoven - Heiliger Dankgesang, op. 132
for String Orchestra

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) composed his A minor string quartet no. 15 in 1825, as part of his last set of compositions. The third movement was composed after Beethoven had recovered from a serious illness, and is subtitled "Heiliger Dankgesang eines Genesenen an die Gottheit, in der Lydischen Tonart" (Holy song of thanksgiving of a convalescent to the Deity, in the Lydian mode). It is a sublime and serene work, here arranged for string orchestra.

Instrumentation: string orchestra (minimum c. 4, 3, 3, 3, 1)
