Gabriel Fauré: Requiem for Choir and Organ
Faure's Requiem is one of the best loved and frequently performed choral works. Although composed for choir and chamber orchestra, it is often heard accompanied by the organ. Performers usually have to work from idiosyncratic piano reductions or organ parts that are unnecessarily complex, often requiring four hands for a complete performance. This reduction is a practical and straightforward version for organ that is playable by one person on any two manual instrument. It is specifically designed for the organist, as the choral parts are presented in short score only, allowing fewer and easier page turns.
